I WILL CONTINUE TO UPDATE THIS PAGE AS MORE INFORMATION IS PROVIDED.
I visited Ron Melnik on Thursday January 6th.
Ron is good spirits. He will have his day in court to face his charges.
I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIS CASE BECAUSE RON HAS OBTAINED AN ATTORNEY AND IS BEING ADVISED NOT TO SPEAK WITH ANYONE ABOUT THE CASE UNTIL AFTER TRIAL.
He is allowed 2 visits, one hour each, per week ONLY !! Sundays & Thursdays
He is allowed up to 2 visitors per visit, so there is potentially 4 people that can see him every week. I plan on visiting him every Thursday morning. If anyone wants to accompany me, I will change my time of visit to go with you, or not go so you can visit. My phone number is 561-441-9932. You can feel free to text or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I asked Ron what he wanted. He said he would like to have some books to read. The only way to send Ron reading material , other than your letters, is to have the material shipped directly from the publisher to Ron's address at the Jail.
I have send him 3 books already. an A-Z Encylcopedia, A History of Knowledge: Past, Present, and Future by Charles Van Doren, and Tribes by Seth Godin.
Ron said that he would enjoy a visitation from anyone who wants to visit him.
If you know Ron, I suggest that you write him a letter just to say hello.
At this time, Ron is being advised NOT to write letters. I hope this will change in the future.
If you get a chance to visit Ron, it is very hard for him to hear because of the way the visitations are set up.
First you are sitting down with a webcam that allows you to be seen, then the video is being fed from inside.
You will then pick up a phone and have a video conference. Please speak slow to Ron, and make sure you speak loud and clear.
Ron may receive care packages that can be purchased at the jail, or online at mycarepack.com
Here is a link to the Broward County Jail and all the info you will need to visit or write to him. http://sheriff.org/about_bso/dodcc/info/index.cfm
