This is considered a home based business. Seller operates ouf of his own office based in Weston. 

In South Florida, most residential swimming pools take an experienced professional 5-8 minutes for a full service that includes visual equipment check, check and addition of chemicals, skimming, brushing and vacuuming the floor of the pool. Drive time is always a variable, so you want to get as many neighbors as possible when you stop for a pool. Lets add 7 minutes per average per pool and you will have 15 minutes per pool.  Multiply this weekly time by 4.33 weeks in a month (there are 4 and 1/3 weeks average each month) and this adds up to between 60 – 75 minutes per month.

A professional has great tools and performs 50-100+ pool cleanings per week. The most common and durable tools that are used are Lion poles, Taylor test kits, Red baron leaf rakes, AB brushes and of course, the Hammer Head pool vacuum.

When it comes to chemicals, the best value for your buck is to use granular “Trichlor”. When measured and used properly it is the most cost effective of all of the chlorine compounds in the industry. It was engineered for the use in outdoor, inground, gunite, swimming pools in the “sun belt”, or Southern United States. Once you have taken the NSPF Certified Pool Operator course, you will better understand the basics of which chemical to use with the different environments and types of surfaces.

When using granular “Trichlor”, the average cost per week to maintain a 10-15k residential pool is about $2. This is offset by charging a “Stabilizer fee” of $35-$50 every 6 months to be able to keep all of the monthly charges as gross profit.
